A Badge is...
Badge Level 1-25
To start off your Badge quest, visit Wade (27496). Inside of the Diamond City Sanctum you will find multiple NPC's with various quests that reward Badge Reputation. Every 15 reputations you get, you can return to wade and level up your badge up to level 25

As you progress your badge quests, you receive an Augment every 5 levels.

Badge of Virtuosity
Outside of the earned badge through Wade (27496) quest line, you can purchase a badge in the Treasury with Points.
This badge is known as the Badge of Virtuosity. It costs 20,000 points without Preferred Player.
Badge of Absolution
You can then upgrade the Badge of Virtuosity to the Badge of Absolution, currently the highest statistics badge in the game.
To upgrade the Badge of Virtuosity into the Badge of Absolution, you must purchase the Essence of Absolution on the Treasury.
